Third Marking Period

                          Assignment #21a

This is Assignment #21a. To make this assignment, we used Google Illustrator. In this assignment we had to make 2-D shapes. We used the square tool to make the square. The square tool can also be used to make rectangles. We used the circle tool to make the circle. It can also be used to make ovals. then we used the pencil tool to make three segments connecting each other, to make the triangle.
                     Assignment #21b and 21c

This is Assignment #21b and #21c. To make this assignment, we used Google Illustrator. To make assignment #21b, we continued from the previous assignment and added the push/pull tool. We use that tool to make 2-D shapes into 3-D shapes. To make assignment #21c, I had to make my name, well nickname 3 dimensional. I used the pencil tool to make my name and add thickness to it (as it make it look like blocks). What I mean is, just imagine writing you name in marker, it doesn't have the same thickness as writing it in pen or pencil. Then I used the push/pull tool to make my name from 2-D to 3-D.
                          Assignment #22-1

In assignment 22, there are 12 blocks in total that we have to complete. This is Assignment #22-1. To make this assignment, we used Google Illustrator. To make sure how big the block has to be, we used the measuring tape to measure the height, (y axis), the length (the x axis) and the width (the z axis). We also used the measuring tape to be sure were we need to "cut" the block and we use the push/pull tool to make the actually dent.
                 Assignment #22-2, #22-3, #22-4

This is Assignment #22-2, #22-3 and #22-4. To make this assignment, we used Google Illustrator. We basically follow the same steps until Assignment #22-9.

                          Assignment #22-5

This is Assignment #22-5. To make this assignment, we used Google Illustrator. What is different in this block is that we added dimensions (the measurement of how long the sides are) so we know how precisely we are and how much we are missing to be exact.
                Assignment #22-6, #22-7, #22-8

This is Assignment #22-6, #22-7 and #22-8. To make this assignment, we used Google Illustrator. we basically did the same thing as Assignment #22-5 and continued up to Assignment #22-8.
                          Assignment #22-9

This is Assignment #22-9. To make this assignment, we used Google Illustrator. The only thing we did different here is that we now cut diagonally. In order to do that we follow the same steps but we just add a slope to it. What I mean is that you use the measuring tape and you perform rise over run. Also we added primary and secondary colors to the image.
             Assignment #22-10, #22-11, #22-12

This is Assignment #22-10, #22-11 and #22-12. To make this assignment, we used Google Illustrator. we basically did the same thing as Assignment #22-9 and continued up to Assignment #22-12.
Quiz Block #1

This is my Quiz. I had Block #1. To me out of all blocks, this was the easiest and I was very lucky to get this block. I had to combine what I learned from all the steps from Assignment #21a to Assignment #22-12. As you can see I have a 3-D shape (used the pull/push tool), I used dimensions, I used the primary and secondary colors and I've cut my shape diagonally to the parts where I need it at.
                   Assignment #23: Bungalow
This is my Bungaow assignment. We used Google Illustrator to make this assingment. we followed a list of instructions on what measurements we needed to do. We basically used the pencil took and the measuring tape tool alot. We also used the square tool to make the doors and windows. We also made our own design to our house. As you can see I added a fence around my bungalow, a walk way and I also added some wood paint to make the bungalow look real, and I added a translucent glass to the doors and windows. In the next image, I added a stage to the back of the bungalow where there is a place to have a barbeque.

This is my Bungalow from the back view.

This is my Bungalow from iso view.

This is my Bungalow from the side view.
Assignment #24: 3-D Effect for Bungalow
This is my 3-D Effect on the bungalow I made on the previous assignment. To do this we used Adobe Photoshop. This assignment was very simple and easy and took about less than 5 minutes to complete. I first chose the background we wanted to put our bungalow in. Then we placed our bungalow in the location/background. We next added a duplicated layer of the bungalow and labeled it red. We labeled it red because we double clicked on the layer and unclicked "G" and "B" and was only left with "R" for red. For the orinal layer we double clicked it and only unclicked on "R". We then used "CTRL+T" to move the layer which gave it the blue and red look. When you put on 3-D glasses, thats when you know if your image has the 3-D effect.

        Assignment #25: Power Button Animation

This is my Power Button Animation assignment. To do this assignment, we used Adobe Photoshop. We first had to write the test and we made the text arc . Then we used the elipse tool to make the circle. Since we dont know the measurements, we had to make the circle be as perfect as we could. we added alot of layer effect to make the button look realistic. The power symbol was already made so all we had to do was copy and paste it to the button. We also added some layer effect to the power symbol. To get the animation part, we had to go to "Window", then "Animation". Then we had to select "Convert to Animation Frame". We finally have like pictures of the animation with the power button "off" (when the symbol is black) and when the power button is "on" (when the power button is red). When you play it, it looks like the button is turning off and on.

Assignment #26: Showcase
This is my showcase project. To do this project I used Adobe Photoshop. We hasically used the skills that we learned this year such as gradient and blur effects. For the showcase, you can add what ever you pleased. In my show case I put a slice of pizza because it is my favorite food, my niece in the center because she is my heart and belongs in the center and I put an iPhone 5s because that is the phone I have.

                    Assignment #27: Brochure

This is my Brochure Assignment. For this assignment, I had to use Microsoft Publisher. We used the brochure option and added our school schedule to it. We also added the bell schedule, how we get to school, a selfie of ourself and a little bio about ourself as a student.

Milagro Rojas 2nd marking period

Assignment #11: Flyer

This is my Flyer assignment made with my photoshop skills. In order to make this flyer we used Adobe Photoshop. This assignment was basically made to see how much we have learned in Photoshop in the 1st marking period. As you can see, I use the distort option to make crazy text, photo filled text and gradient text. I also used a linear gradient background  and added pictures.

Assignment #12: Texture with Layer mode

This is my texture input project. In order to do make this, we used Adobe Photoshop. We first had to find a dress ( for the girls) or a suit (for the boys) that we liked. I used the Magnetic Lasso tool to outline what I was going to fill in the texture with and in here the area that is getting the texture is the dress. To get the texture into in the dress we had to make another layer and clip the texture into the new layer by using the clipping mask. To show the before and after effect, I had to increase the canvas size to show what the dress looked before the texture and what the texture was.

                                  Assignment #13: Mimic Poster

This is my mimic poster. In order to make this poster we used Adobe Photoshop. We first chose a junk food that many people eat. For example I chose McDonald french fries. We then had to replace the junk food with a healthy food. As you can see I replaced the fries with carrot sticks. To do this we used the magic wand and we used the eraser. I used a blue gradient background. We also used an outer glow effect in the blending options to get that glow on the image. The NYC FOOD BANK Logo was used solely for educational purpose. No Copy Right infringement was intended.

             Assignment #14a: Displacement Flag

This is my displacement flag assignment. In order to make this assignment we used Adobe Photoshop. We first picked out a brick background and a flag of our country or a logo from our favorite sport teams. Then we applied the flag or logo to the brick background. We then copied the brick background into a new layer. We added a filter to the back ground which made it look grayish. The filter was blur- gaussian blur. Then we selected the blending options and chose Hard Light and set the opacity to 80%.

             Assignment #14b: Face Displacement

This is my face displacement assignment. In order to make this assignment we used Adobe Photoshop. We first had to pick a selfie of our desire. Then we followed the same steps as we did in the last assignment. To make it look like a mask we erased the part of the flag that covered our eyes, lips and around our face.

                   Assignment #15: Motion Blur

This is my motion blur assignment. We used Adobe Photoshop in order to do this project. We first had to find a type of transportation vehicle. The vehicle had to be on a road background with trees or a road. Then we opened the image as Smart Object. We then clicked on Filter in photoshop, click on blur and clicked on motion blur. We adjusted the blur to our liking. After that we used the brush to take away the blur from the vehicle so the image looks like it is in motion. We used smart filter because it offers more image-editing flexibility. The difference between normal and smart filter is that in smart filter you can add multiple filters on top of one another without messing up the image if we mess up. We can also continuously edit the settings of smart filter to get different cool effects.
                Assignment #16: Quick Masking

This is my quick mask assignment. We had to use Adobe Photoshop to do this assignment. We first had to find a "selfie" of our desire or a picture of someone like a celebrity. Then we had to decide what we wanted to change in our image, like color of eyes, hair, etc. Then we clicked on the Quick mask button. We then click on the brush tool and painted over the are we wanted to change and the area that was painted would be in red. Then we took off Quick mask, and the area that was in red now became a dashed line. We clicked on the inverse button , then we were able to change the area with a color we desired. Quick Mask is a mode you can use which lets you create a ready-made mask that you can edit or turn into a selection by painting with black or white colors. By using this masking technique, you are masking the areas you want to paint so you have to inverse the selection before any adjustments.
                  Assignment #17: Soft Effect

This is my soft effect project. We used Adobe Photoshop in order to do this project. We had to chose an old man or woman with winkles or a person with pimples to make there skin healthier and cleaner. We first made a copy of the picture. Then to the copy of the picture we added smart filter. Then we clicked on filter, then blur and then Gaussian blur. We adjusted the blur to a good amount about 2-6 depending on the image. Then we changed the layer style from normal to screen. We clicked on the layer mask  and selected the brush tool. We outlined the eye and mouth area and the background to only add the effect to the skin. We then changed the opacity to add the final effect.

                   Assignment #18: USB Drive

This is my USB drive project. We used Adobe Illustrator in order to do this project.  This project had many steps. We basically used many gradient colors so it can look realistic. We used shapes to do the body of the USB drive, the base, the part that goes in the computer, and the label on the front. We learned how to align some shapes from front to back and selecting more than one shape together.  This task was somewhat easy and difficult because if you don't know how to use adobe Illustrator or its your first time using you might have some troubles.
Assignment #19a: Last Name in Illustrator

This is my project in using shaped to write out my last name. In order to do this project, we used Adobe Illustrator. This projectw as the most simple thus far out of this semester. Depending on your last name, and how long it is, makes this project simple or not. We first put all the different shapes on top as you can see. Also we put the different types of lines on the bottom. As you can tell my last name is Rojas, so this project was easy and simple. I first used the grid on the bottom right to determine how big i wanted my letters to be and how much space I had. We only but vertical lines on the grid. Then I used (my option) the rounded rectangle to make all of my letters. For the letters to stay together and look like a whole we used the button before Minus- front in pathfinder.
                                   Assignment #19b : Minus Front
                     and Divide in Path  Finder

This is my "cheat sheet" project. To do this project, we used Adobe Illustrator. This project was made to help us use the Path Finder option and use the minus- front and divide in shapes. The pink rectangle, which is on top of the blue square, was used to cut the blue square into a blue rectangle. We used Minus- front in Pathfinder to do this step. In the next image we have a black rounded rectangle and a green circle in the middle. We used the Minus-front in Pathfinder to repeat what we did in the last image to have 2 separate shapes. In the last image we have the two separate shapes and put an orange rectangle across the middle of it horizontally. We then used divide to divide the orange rectangle into parts where we can delete. We used the white arrow in Adobe Illustrator to erase the orange rectangle parts.
                                  Assignment #20: Phone

This is my phone project/ test. We used Adobe Illustrator to do this project. This project also took many steps as well. We mostly used everything that we have learned this marking period in Adobe Illustrator. We still used linear gradient, which we have done in the past, we learned how to do different shapes (assignment 19a) and we learned about using offset pathfinder. This project/test took 5 days to complete. Day 1, we had to get to step 6. In those steps we created the shape of the phone and added a gradient fill to the phone and we made the screen for the phone. Day 2, we had to get up to step 14. In those steps we created the buttons on the screen and filled in the beige color. We also typed the names; Milly and MCSM+. We also added the antenna and the battery. Day 3, we had to get up to step 23. In these steps, we created the four buttons and we made the arrows and the select button (button in the middle of the arrows). Day 4, we had to get up to step 28. In these steps, we did 12 buttons, also known as the number pad and filled in the necessary numbers, letters and symbols. And at last, day 5, we completed the test by going up to step 32. In these last steps we created the the transmitter (the part of the phone that you talk into) and the receiver (the part of the phone where you listen).
                                Summary

In this marking period, I learned a lot about Adobe Illustrator and finished learning some last things in Adobe Photoshop. In Adobe Photoshop, I learned about effects like soft effect and blur motion. In Adobe Illustrator, I learned about created shapes and doing a lot of Pathfinders to create a 3 dimensional look. My favorite assignment was Assignment #16 which was quick masking. Quick masking helped picked a certain area you wanted to change, like color of eyes, hair, teeth... lol and etc. The easiest assignment for me was Assignment 19a. It was only about shapes and just making my last name in Illustrator. The assignment I least disliked was was the USB drive. It was a lot of steps and a little complicated. But overall this marking period had fun assignment and its pretty cool to see how it all turned out at the end.
